The number of calories in a thimble or single of coffee creamer varies by type and brand. One thimble or single tub is one serving, which is typically under 20 kcal. Low-fat and half-and-half creamers are usually 10 kcal or less per serving. There are also zero-calorie coffee creamers whose thimbles are essentially calorie-free.

Want to track the calories of your beverages? Use the Fastic app. Its calories and macro tracking tool lets you know exactly how much you consume in a day, which can be highly beneficial if you’re trying to stay in a caloric deficit.

What is a Thimble of Coffee Creamer?

A thimble of coffee creamer is a small, single-serving container, usually made of plastic or foil. It’s usually used in restaurants, hotels, and transportation like planes or trains. It gets the name thimble because the packaging resembles a sewing thimble, a small cup-shaped covering for fingers to protect them from needles.

The thimble of coffee creamer or milk is also called a single. That’s because it packs a single serving, which is typically around 10 to 12 ml. These singles keep the creamer fresh and are convenient for distribution. Instead of handing out an entire bottle or jar of creamer, businesses can provide one or more singles to people.

How Many Calories in Coffee Creamer?

There’s a huge variety of coffee creamers in the market. They also vary by ingredients. Some are made from milk, some from low-fat milk, and others use plant-based alternatives. As a result, the caloric content of coffee creamers varies greatly.

Typically, dairy-based creamers tend to have more calories than non-dairy ones. That’s because dairy-based creamers have more fat content. The exact calories depend on the ingredients used in the creamer, including any sugar and other carbs.

The Original Nestle Coffeemate, the most popular coffee creamer, has 10 kcal in one serving or thimble. This one is non-dairy, so the caloric content is not very high. Other flavored varieties of the same creamer have higher calories. For instance, a thimble of French Vanilla Coffeemate has 25 kcal.

How Many Servings in a Thimble of Coffee Creamer?

Technically, a thimble or single tub of coffee creamer is one serving. One thimble is supposed to be used for a standard cup of coffee (a little over 8 ounces or 236 ml). Some people may find the single serving less, at least those who like their coffee creamier.

It’s really up to you how many servings you add to your coffee to make it just how you like it. But keep in mind that the more thimbles or servings you add, the more calories you'll add (unless it’s a zero-calorie coffee creamer).

To give you a better understanding of how many calories are there in a single thimble of coffee creamer, here’s a chart of some of the most popular varieties of coffee creamers and their single-serving calories:

How Much Sugar in a Thimble of Coffee Creamer?

A thimble or single serving of coffee creamer may contain sugar unless it’s zero-calorie. Most coffee creamers have some sweetness, which may come from sugar or artificial sweeteners. The exact amount of sugar varies (ranges from zero to 5 g).

For instance, the Nestle Coffeemate doesn’t have any sugar. It does mention sugar in the ingredients but not in the nutritional information table, which suggests that the amount of sugar per serving is negligible. International Delight French Vanilla flavor has 5g of sugar per serving.

If you’re concerned about the sugar content of a creamer, you may want to choose a zero-calorie option. These are sweet, but they use non-nutritive sweeteners, which don’t usually have any calories.

You can use the Fastic app to keep a track of your sugar intake. By adding meals and beverages throughout the day, you can know exactly how much sugar you consume.
